What are Random Number Generators
As we had mentioned, generators are computer programs that use a set algorithm to create a random result. There are various types of RNGs. Casinos use pseudo RNG that does not require an input to produce an output. Casino generators use an algorithm, and a unique number called a seed number to create a random output. Seed numbers are generated every millisecond. The mathematical process of getting to the random outcome, which we do not see, is not truly random.
How Does it Work
Random Number generators operate using three easy steps.
- The RNG constantly produces random numbers.
- When the player clicks on spin or deal, the program will send a random value to gaming software.
- The software will turn the random value into a result players can read and understand.
Cheating Casino Random Number Generators
Theoretically, yes, RNGs can be cheated. However, we don’t recommend that you look into learning how to beat generators. These are computerized algorithms and can theoretically be hacked. Not everyone is capable of hacking the advanced programs and algorithms.
There have, however, been players who tried to cheat a generator and succeeded. It didn’t last long before the casinos caught on, and needless to say, the player was charged with seven years jail time. The consequence didn’t end there. The player was also placed on the Nevada Gaming Control Boards black book, which prohibited them from entering any casino.
Players will be happy to know that even though RNG can be hacked, the casino sites that we have listed have not rigged the number generators. Internet casinos use software that has been tested by a third-party company.
Fair Online Casino Random Number Generator
Licensed casinos in the US use software that is tested by third parties. The company looks into the games, mathematical evaluations, payout verifications and audits. Should an RNG pass the third-party company test, it will be certified as fair, essentially meaning it is random.
Examples of third-party companies that are used to test the RNG include Gaming laboratories International (GLI), e-Commerce and online gaming regulation and assurance (eCOGRA) as well as Technical Systems Testing (TST). Casinos that have passed the test will have a badge that says ‘random’ or ‘fair.’
Outside variables like payout sizes, VIP cards, credits used to play will not impact or influence the random number generator. The stamp of approval also indicates that the casinos gaming machines meet the minimum payout percentages which have been set by the local or federal gaming commissions and authorities
Random Number Generator Online Casino FAQs
What is an RNG Hit Frequency?
Hit Frequency is the number that indicates how many times a winning combination has appeared on the slot machine. A higher hit frequency shows that the game will render winning combos often.
How do random number generators work in slot machines?
The RNG will generate a random value that is then decoded into a unique set of figures which correspond to the symbols on the slot’s reels. Each spin outcome is based on the random number selected by the RNG. The random value is selected as soon as you click spin.
Are streaks random?
Absolutely. It is hard to believe. However, streaks are random. Both winning and losing streaks are adequate fits to the law of probability and are a foreseeable element of casino games.
Can an RNG change my strategy?
It depends, if you are playing using the card counting strategies, you should do away with the strategy when playing web-based casino games. Random number generators ensure that each hand is randomized, making it hard to use the strategy effectively.
Are slots really random?
Yes, new-age slot machines determine their outcomes using computers to generate random numbers. Each result is entirely random.
Can the RNG be programmed to hit specific bets?
No, the random number generator does not know the size of the bet you make. It only generators the random numbers which will appear on the reels as symbols.
