OJ Simpson was recently escorted out of the Cosmopolitan Casino Resort and banned. No reason has been given by the casino
Conflicting Reports About Simpson
Some witnesses spoke to ‘TMZ’, the celebrity gossip website, and reported that Simpson and his friend had become drunk and disorderly. Certain witnesses even claimed that there were some glasses broken before the group was escorted out of the bar. Simpson’s attorney has denied claims and said the former NFL star was not drunk, nor were any glasses broken.
However, there are conflicting reports from witnesses. Other witnesses have come forward and said that Simpson’s friends were drinking wine, but he did not have any. The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas hasn’t given any reason for Simpson being escorted from the property, but it has confirmed that he has been banned.
What a casino ban means in practice
A Las Vegas resort is private property, and management can ask a guest to leave and refuse further entry without giving a reason — which is what happened here and what the property later confirmed. A notice of that kind is served on the spot by security and recorded by the venue; it applies to that property and says nothing about a visitor’s standing anywhere else.
Anyone who wants such a decision explained takes it up with the property in writing, because admission is the venue’s own call rather than a gaming matter. Funds and comps attached to an account are handled by the same management, and a written request is what leaves a record of the answer.
Bets on OJ Simpson’s Fate
He was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife, but was later sent to prison for felony robbery and kidnapping. He was sentenced in 2008 and served nine years before being released on the 1st of October 2017. Simpson is expected to be on parole for the next five years. During that time, he is not allowed to associate with criminals and felons, possess weapons, use drugs, and consume an excessive amount of alcohol. Should he violate the terms of his parole, he could face 22 years in prison.
When his parole hearing was coming up, several sportsbooks were taking wagers on whether he would get parole or not. After he was released, there were several sportsbooks offering bets on whether he would remain a free man, or break his parole. These wagers have largely died down.
