This was because online casinos needed players to download software to play, but 99% of that software was made for Windows PCs and used the .exe format. Let MobileCasinos24.com help you find the best online casinos that support Macs.
This format was completely incompatible with Mac’s iOS, and so players could only install a casino app if the casino had gone out of its way to ensure that it was compatible with iOS. This presented another issue, Mac products were far less common and spending the money on writing software just for Macs was not worth it, so very few casinos went through the effort.
Increase in Mac Compatible Casinos
Thankfully, if there is one area that is always advancing at a blistering pace, it’s the I.T. sector. Not only did Macs become more popular and the user base grow, but new ways of accessing online casino libraries became available.
Things really changed when instant play casinos hit the online gambling scene. Suddenly, players no longer needed to download any software, they could simply access their online casino through the web browser. The casino would use Java or Flash, which was supported by the web browsers used by Mac users. This change immediately made Mac compatible casinos a lot easier to find, also allowing iPhone users to enjoy mobile gambling.
What are the Pros and Cons of a Mac Compatible Casino?
Instant play casinos have made a huge difference for Mac users, but they’re not without their drawbacks. Typically, the game selection offered by instant play casinos is a bit smaller than if you downloaded the software. If you’re looking for new and popular games, this isn’t going to be a problem. However, older titles might not be available.
When instant play casinos first started appearing, the visuals offered were definitely inferior to those on download casinos. Thankfully, this is no longer the case, as technology has allowed the graphics to catch up.
There are also definite advantages to using a Mac casino as well. Apple products tend to be safer from viruses and malware when compared to Windows machines. This isn’t because iOS is a whole lot safer, it’s just that there are more Windows PCs out there so the people who make viruses and malware target Windows instead.
Besides that, a Mac compatible online casino has all the same benefits as other instant play casinos, such as less time to access the casinos, no wasting storage space on your Mac and so on.
